very very slow data transfer from firewire hdd [ SOLVED]

i have a firewire harddisc installed, all modules are loaded ( i think),
the harddisc is automatically mounted through udev, but the process of copying a 5 mb file need over 10 minutes !

the firewire drive is a hfsplus filesystem.
