Wlan Notebook switch aktivate

I have the FSC amilo a 1630 with a minipci card (ralink rt2500). my proble is now that i can't aktivate the card over the switch in my keyboard. the driver and interface is no problem but I can;t use the card cause of the switch. i tried the original driver and also ndiswrapper. now someone told me that i could activate my card over iwpriv. how does that work? i'm new in linux so i have not rweally a clou what to do.
