Estou tentando habilitar a minha pl. de video GeForce FX 5200 instalando os divers da nVidia.Entrei com a seguinte linha:
root@localhost rodrigo # emerge nvidia-kernel nvidia-cg-toolkit nvidia-glx nvidia-settings
Inicialmente o emerge funciunou normalmente, mas depois reportou o erro abaixo. Alguem sabe como posso habilitar minha pl. de video?

Verifique o link simbólico /usr/src/linux. Além disso, você fez make mrproper depois de compilar o kernel? Se fez, tem que reconfigurar e deixar o .config na raiz dos sources do kernel, pelo que a mensagem de erro diz.

| Eu compilei o kernel com suporte a nforce2 direto, não como módulo. Tá funcionando que é uma beleza, e nunca mais me incomodei com o vídeo, coisa que acontecia direto em outras distribuiçoes... Talvez seja uma boa idéia pra você também??? |

Garrido, não se trata de uma placa nForce, e sim uma GeForce. Para GeForce, não se deve compilar o módulo das nForce.
