Hi tried yesterday to install gentoo stage1. i booted my livecd 2004.3 with noapic otherwise "modprobe sata_nv" failes. i followed all instructions in the handbook and tried to run the bootstrap script. it works fine till one spot (it was everytime i tried the same spot!) in the gcc compilation process.

memtest86 after 4h no error!
Could anyone help me?
PS: my machine: epox 8kda3+ nforce3 board with Athlon64 3200+, seagate s-ata harddisk

Hi, I changed just a few things: CFLAGS="-march=athlon64 -O2 -pipe" and MAKEOPTS="-j2", USEFLAGS are standard. Tried also to boot with noapic acpi=off -> the error message changed to: "Bus error" but in same file on same spot!
WinXP runs on same machine wihout faults so far.
