I have Windows XP Pro installed to a separate partion on the drive in my laptop (the other partitions house gentoo stuff). However, I am getting a recognition error when I try to load it. When I try to run grub-install again I get this error:
/dev/ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/disk does not have any corresponding BIOS drive.
Yes, Windows occupies the first partition on my disk, which I image can cause problems. But I can't fix that now, not without loosing all my data.
Anyone know how to fix this? |

Having windows in the first partition should not cause any problems. I have it on my laptop and grub works fine here.

Despite the error message, it seems to be magically working now. Not going to worry about it unless I have more problems. |
