keyboard trouble. EZ-9910

I got a keyboard with a computer I bought. Nothing special, but I really like it. There is no brand name on it just the words "Office Keyboard", on the back the is a serial number: EZ-9910. Its ps2 and has some of those anoying "multimeda keys".
The problem is it just doesn't work in linux. It works fine in grub, it doesn't work in the LiveCD or when the system is loaded. Other ps2 keyboards work.
I have compiled i8042 and aktbd in teh kernel (2.6).

I never thougt it could be this difficult to get a keyboard to work

Anyone got any hints?
