ignoring freetds.conf

hi everyone.

i've intalled php with mssql support.
i can connect to a server using host like 'IP address:port' , but if a define a server in the freetds.conf file, it won't work.

had this conf file and the php application working in a redhat box.

must i specify the location of the conf file somewhere? it is installed in /etc
