|
|
So I'm in an x86_64 envoirment, and I just installed vmware 5 beta. The setup went smoothly, and I can load up the vmware just fine. Though vmrun -v xxx caused some lib errors, but after a few minutes of taking apart 32bit library rpms and shoving them in lib32/ vmrun also started working. But when I hit 'play' I get this:
Code: |
VMware Workstation must be set-UID root, "/opt/vmware/lib/bin-debug/vmware-vmx" is not. Are you running /opt/vmware/lib/bin-debug/vmware-vmx from its distribution directory? That copy of the program is not set-UID root.

I'm new to vmware so I'm not sure how to go about fixing this... As I understand it the VMware Workstation must be set-UID root - that sounds kind of weird to me. vmware isn't a user or anything =\...
cheers,

You just need to set that file as suid root (chmod 4755) _________________ Tyan Tiger K8W, 2xOpteron 240,Powerbook5,6 15" 1.5g, Macbook Black 2g, Mac Mini 1g, Ipod P60g.
