|
|
well i have 2 comps one is a server period it doesn nothing else... so here is my problem
when i transfer large files i get 25mb/sec then around 44% it drops down to 1mb/sec
my percentage and ram on both computers ( the server and client ) are no more then 10 % ... i do have an older hard drive which might cause the problem but i doubt it.....
any ideas?

The problem could encompass a wide variety of reasons.
1) What kind of network? Ethernet.. Hub or switch etc..
2) Is your network saturated with bandwidth?
3) Options you use to mount the nfs client
4) how many nfsd process's are started etc..
5) hardrive speeds
6) nfs versions used between server/client
7) server/computer speeds
etc..
Thanks |

1) 100mb network running through a 10/100 ethernet router
2) not saturated... its practically dead 98% of time
3) hard,intr,rw,nfsvers=3
4) 8
5) this one on client is 7200rmp and on other 5400( i download off server REALLY FAST but upload like crap)
6) server 2/3(use) client2/3(use)
7) client:
AMD 64 3200+ 1 gig dual ddr pc 500 ram
server:
AMD 2000+ XP 512 MB pc2100 ram
heheh and the load averages are no problem ( around 20 % when i get fast ) _________________ 'It is the mark of an educated man to teach without a thought.' - Aristotle
