Hi,

Is there a tool that would allow me to ping a server (ie. www.Google.com) from two different sources (or hosts)? What I'm trying to accomplish here is to be able to measure the latency between me (my desktop) & Google.com, and the latency between my router (my gateway) & Google.com.

You can try traceroute or tracepath (net-misc/iputils).

...Tracepath or just plain old Ping would do just fine, but what I'm trying to accomplish is to be able to perform the measurement from two different hosts at the same time, automated every 10 minutes, and have records of the measurement dump to a file.

...scripting, something simpler than ntop, or etc. ??? :?

You might want to take a step back and use Webmin's monitoring facilities. Could turn out to solve the problem another way. it's the app-admin/webmin package.
