I am currently running web server with several virtual hosts. Each time I add a new virtual host, I edit the /etc/apache2/vhosts/vhosts.confg file and create the corresponding directories in /var/www. I am aware of several ways of maintaining virtual hosts, from database driven configuration to manual configuration file editing. My websites are mainly small php driven and many use the same programs (phpbb, phpmyadmin, etc..).
What is the recommended method (or the Gentoo) method of virtual hosting? How does the gentoo community handle virtual hosting? Please share your best practices. |

That sounds fine to me. I wrote a bunch of perl scripts where I work a number of years ago to automate the adding of lines to the virtual host .conf file and setup home directories, but otherwise the actual method is the same. _________________ CitrusDB Open Source Billing Software
