Have got a scanner with adf of the type scanjet 5590:
http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/sm/WF06a/15179-64195-215155-15202-215155-377689.html?jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN
Would like to get it working in combination with gentoo,
since this would enable me to integrate it all into a document management system.
Two questions:
1. Does anybody know how to do this, other than scanning it in on windoze and then transfer the files
2. Can accept that I bought the wrong scanner , just don't think there are many alternatives.
in case anybody can indicate me a type with the following properties:
a. has got adf
b. is in a similar price range
c. does have linux support.
, this could also help
Anyway don't like the HP-product range for their limited (read non-existing) linux support.
Just bought a Minolta Color Laser printer to put that right.
As a matter of fact this link got me further:

Anybody can tell me what to do to get "san-project" kooking with gentoo.
Looks like I may have to open the thing and look for the chipset inside.
Then probably modify some header files.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions |
