Hi
I just got a Edimax EW-7101PC PCMCIA wireless network card.
Its a PCMCIA Wireless netcard and a PCI converter if you want to put it in a PC.
The manual has a guide for installation in Linux kernel 2.2 with wlan-ng and pcmcia-cs
But i have 2.6 kernel and a up2date system.
hvad driver do i need ? and what do i have to enable in my kernel ?
I'm really lost here. _________________ Encrypt, lock up everything and duct tape the rest |

If you're trying to use it on a laptop, make sure you have pcmcia support enabled, then go into wireless devices(non-hamradio) in the network options in the kernel and add support for your card, if you can't find your card, just go ahead and compile all the drivers(except experimental ones, unless you want to). As for using the PCI converter, I'm not sure, I'm assuming it just do the same thing. |

I'll try to skip the PCI converter and put the PCMCIA card in a laptop.
Mandrake says that the card is a Prism2 card that uses Orinoco_plx (i think) module
but the card dont work in mandrake too.. _________________ Encrypt, lock up everything and duct tape the rest |

hmmm, If you haven't already, you might want to search the forums and google to see if others have had problems with it. |
