So I just ran through the little qmail email system howto and it is working great. HOwever, I am really wondering how to get my email clients to stop warning me about the root certificate. I would like to install my root certificate on these machines, but I just can't figure out which file to use from my server. I used the public part of the imapd.pem, and installed it on my client, but it still complains about an unknown certificate. Is it a different file or do I need to get it signed somehow through a service like cacert.org?? If so, how do I do this?

It's specific to your email client(s). Each client will likely use a different interface for importing certificates and require the certificate to be in a different format.

yeah, I'm figuring that out... only it's pissing me off even more
I'm on macosx and I've imported the certificate, but apple still asks until it is one of their trusted certificates. There doesn't seem to be any way to over ride the warning and just trust the darn thing. Tried thunderbird, entourage and apple mail... thunderbird came close, but not quite _________________ The day microsoft markets a product that doesn't suck is the day they market vacuum cleaners. |

Hit the macosxhints.com archives/forums - there is a way to do it, but it's ugly as all get out. Hopefully Mail 10.4 will make this easier. In the mean time, I'm trying out Thunderbird. _________________ Osmos.org
