I am currently using the newest KDE, xorg, with ati-drivers.. only problems i have is when i logout of X, screen goes white and the system crashes... also when i shut my lid, and come back minutes later.. the backlight to my screen won't light up forcing me to reboot the machine.. are these problems at all common? If so, are there any fixes for this... any help would be greatly appreciated |

Did you compile the kernel with acpi enabled or disabled? _________________ I've been away for a long time, bear with me. |

Of course my answer will entail compiling your kernel with acpi. Laptops are generally accepting to the acpi option/feature. Try acpi out and configure your kernel with the ideal acpi settings you feel would be needed and /or beneficial to your liking.
If you have anymore inqueries following this then post here naturally. _________________ I've been away for a long time, bear with me. |
