web pages load slow in firefox

I find the www slow. my internet conectino is fast the only problem is that firefox loads pages slow. bittorent is fast. coluld it be a problem with my network settings

In the bottom right cornner of firefox it says looking up www.google.ca for a long time when loading www.google.ca.

is my computer having a problem withe the name server

I've been noticing the same thing a bit lately, but I think it's because websites are just getting a bit overloaded more than anything else.
