|
|
I got a Gateway E-3200 (350mhz) box for Christmas. Got gentoo up and running in 8 hours (thanks to distcc). But I am having problems with the sound card. I installed Windows on it to test, and the card was detected and worked. But I can't get it going in Gentoo. The livecd detects the card saying:
Code: | CS4235 Codec: WSS/SB
Using module CS4232
|
(the wording may be slightly different, I only wrote down the important numbers)
When I try to load the module "snd-cs4232" it says, "FATAL: Error inserting snd_cs4232: no such device" I have tried several different (but similar) modules, and all give the same error message.
The sound card is built into the motherboard, and I don't think it's on the PCI bus because lspci doesn't show any information about it. Plus, the module that the livecd said it should use is listed under ISA.
Any ideas? |

Did you include ISA bus support in your kernel?
