first, what version of kernel are you using?
genkernel should automatically mount /boot (/boot is not mounted by default). after running genkernel all, run mount and see if /boot is indeed mounted. if not, then the /boot you are looking at is the folder, or mount point, and not the real /boot filesystem that's mounted. if /boot is not shown in mount command output, then for some reason genkernel is not automatically moutning it. workaround: run "mount /boot" prior to running "genkernel all". |
