A friend of mine is looking for a ceiling of the possible hard disk capacity for a Compaq presario 7EL7000T-374 with the VIA vt82c596b IDE-chip.
It's a rather old system with UDMA 33/66. He wants to purchase a 200 GB maxtor disk but he doesn't know if it will be supported by the hardware. It has one 40 GB drive right now, so it is not one of those chips that limit capacity to 32 GB.

Anyone knows?
