How can I use 2 Monitors and switch to TV?

I've currently got 2 TFT monitors set up on a GF6800 and have also connected my system to my TV via SVIDEO. My current understanding is that if I want to switch from 2 monitors to 1 monitor + TV, I need to restart X wih a different configuration. In windows (yes, yes, I know), it is possible to 'switch' one display device for another 'on the fly' -- is there any way to accomplish this with x.org and the nvidia drivers (I am using twinview), or am I stuck with restarting X if I want to redirect output to the TV?
