after playing some game, x isn't the resolution it's supposed to be, it's maybe 800x600, and i have to scroll to see everything, as i only see a part of my 1280x960 screen
only resolution in xorg.config is 1280x960, using windows now so i can't post my config

Try alt control +

If not run:
xrandr -s 1280x960

it's actually the game itself that's causing it as it should automatically restore X's resolution when quitting, try running the game from console and see if it gives out any error messages when you quit the game :)
