I have followd the alsa on gentoo docs for setting up alsa on my sound card.
every thing appears to go fine untill I try to strat the alsa deamon upon which I get this error:
Code: | root@necron99 stan # /etc/init.d/alsasound restart
* ALSA driver is not loaded.
* Initialising ALSA....
* Starting sound driver: snd-ymfpci /lib/modules/2.4.19-gentoo-r10/kernel/sound/pci/ymfpci/snd-ymfpci.o: init_module: No such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
/lib/modules/2.4.19-gentoo-r10/kernel/sound/pci/ymfpci/snd-ymfpci.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.19-gentoo-r10/kernel/sound/pci/ymfpci/snd-ymfpci.o failed
/lib/modules/2.4.19-gentoo-r10/kernel/sound/pci/ymfpci/snd-ymfpci.o: insmod snd-ymfpci failed |
I'm sure this is a simple problem but I'm just not sure what the next step to take is.
any help would be much appriciated. |
