I am having trouble with my imap server: Code: |
* net-mail/uw-imap
Latest version available: 2004a
Latest version installed: 2004a
Size of downloaded files: 2,172 kB
Homepage: http://www.washington.edu/imap/
Description: UW server daemons for IMAP and POP network mail protocols.
License: as-is | When I connect to it with the xemacs vm imap client, the client displays: Code: | IMAP protocol error: "unexpected char (10)" | and the log file on the server shows: Code: | Jan 9 11:57:09 eli xinetd[21591]: START: imap2 pid=15991 from=192.168.2.2
Jan 9 11:57:09 eli xinetd[15991]: FAIL: imap2 address from=192.168.2.2
Jan 9 11:57:09 eli xinetd[21591]: EXIT: imap2 pid=15991 duration=0(sec) | This used to work, but after an upgreade and reboot, it fails.
Can anyone offer any suggestions as to what I need to do? Thanks! |

im not familiar with imapd, but did you update the config files via dispatch-conf?
If not, do it. If you did, maybe it messed with your config?! |

well its like etc-update, but better
afair it updates small, unsignificant changes automatically and its simply easier to use. etc-update is a pain in the a** if you ask me.. |

I use uwimap and I don't think there are any configuration files that you can edit. I had to edit source code and recompile to get it to put messages in $HOME/.mail instead of /var/mail. _________________ Half-life/Source/Urban Terror/Unreal control panel -> www.opengamepanel.org

Code: | One line in /etc/xinetd.conf that says localhost only. |
I had looked at my old copy of that file, but I had commented out the offending line in the old file, and I was just eyeballing it, not really thinking about it, and I missed the # and the beginning of the line. |
