I just finished a stage 1 build on my new in home server. \the big problem I have is with Bind. Bind works fine when I try it from the console on the server machine, but none of the other machines on the network can find it, even though is is in the resolv.conf file on each of the other computers. I can ping my server from the other machines, they just can not connect to hte nameserver. My dhcp server and NFS server are also on the same machine and DNS. Both dhco and nfs work fine, just unable to see dns. DNS works good on the local machine, but not at all on the remotes. |

What port is BIND serving on? Can you telnet to that port from a remote host? _________________ The free market gave me gonorrhea. |
