|
|
Hi!
I just have switched to stable 2.6.10-r4 and savagefb instead of vesafb.
I start gentoo with grub using
Code: | kernel /boot/bzImage root=/dev/hda2 video:savagefb:1400x1050@60 |
But the screen looks very strange and it's kind of flickering. xorg still runs nice, of course.
Is anyone here successfully using savagefb? |

Thanks If it's in french, it will be wonderfull

I've tried it and it does not work in my T23. Go for the VESA driver
BTW, 2.6.10/11rc1 seem to have a serious problem with usb mouses and suspend/resume. 2.6.9-ck3 works much better for me. _________________ "I'm just very selective about the reality I choose to accept." -- Calvin |

Just fixed it unchecking the "enable console acceleration" FB_SAVAGE_ACCEL thingo and rebuilding the kernel. Everything seems fine now...

At least as good. If there's a difference, I can't tell. I'm not sure what AGP would do to my viewing experience anyway. X works ok, fb works OK too...
Oh, I take that back! I'm switching between console and X instantly, like never before! And mplayer keeps working on X after that! (Since I changed from XFree86 to x.org it used to fail after switching to console).

It still does not work with my T23, even if I don't use console acceleration. I use grub to start with the following
Code: | kernel /boot/bzImage root=/dev/hda2 video=savagefb:1400x1050@60 |
All I get is a very flickering screen. |

It looks like DirectFB hasn't developed a driver for our savage board yet. See the link in my last post. _________________ Proprietary is theft. Pierre-Joseph Proudhon, if he had a chance
