I've been seeing a wierd bug for a least a few Mozilla versions now. Some pages, sometimes, don't show in the browser (just a gray nothing, as with a CTRL-T new tab) until I change the font size (CTRL-+ or CTRL--), presumably causing a re-render. This also sometimes happens with images alone that I've opened in new tabs: when I first switch to the tab, nothing is displayed, but the image shows up with CTRL-+ or CTRL--, even though there's no text size to change. Reloading the page/image also usually helps. There aren't any specific pages or images which cause this, though - it seems to be pretty random as far as I can tell.

Has anyone else seen this? Any ideas how to fix it? I'll put this in as a bug if other people are seeing it.

I'm running Mozilla 1.7.5 natively compiled for AMD64, if that helps.

I used to have similar problems in mozilla-firefox then I realized the problem was with a few other gtk based programs as well, it turns out I had XFree set up incorrectly saying I had more video memory than I really had on the card, once that was fixed all the problems went away.

My /etc/X11/xorg.conf doesn't have a line for video memory. There's a list of available options - would AGPSize be the right one?

Not sure, that was back when I had an old Matrox Millenium PCI card, so, needless to say the MGA driver for it had the default to 8MB or something and I only had 4, anyway, after I fixed my xf86config everything was ok. may be a totally different source of the same problem with xorg, I'm not sure, sorry.
