|
|
I'm installing a fresh gentoo. When i do emerge --sync, it gave me this error:
Code: |
>>> starting rsync with rsync://rsync.namerica.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage....
>>> checking server timestamp ...
rsync: getaddrinfo: rsync.namerica.gentoo.org 873 Temporary failure in name resolution
rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at clientserver.c(88)
|
And then i tried emerge-webrsync, but still didnt work out.
My Portage is 20050109
Any ideas?

An obvious question: does your network connection and name resolution work? I.e. can you use lynx or something else without problems?

Maybe you've got sth wrong with your firewall?
rsync uses another port than http. |
