Heya!
I tried to run an old X application (an old closed-source software I do not get any support for anymore), but get an error saying "can't load library 'libX11.so.6'. The "missing" file is there ( a symlink to libX11.so.6.2 ) and everything else seems to be running fine.
As the X app is known to depend on the old libc5, I already emerged lib-compat , but it seems that I also need a libc5-compatible libX11.so.6 ...
Two questions:
a) how can I use two versions of a library on one system (if they have the same name)?
b) where can I get this libX11.so.6 ? I did not find something in the portage tree...
I have xorg-x11 6.8.0-r3 installed ...
Thanks for any comments/ideas!
Kind regards,
Heiko |
