What about post non-english topics in the special forums created for: german, french, swedish etc..... ??
Why post a topic written in a diffrent language than english when the forum is english-speaking?! _________________ Carpe Diem |

i think those threads are meant for local problems like where to get screen-fonts supporting asian scribbles etc etc and for people who don't know that much english ...but it seems to have evolved in the wrong way ...well it _seems_
btw: i haven't seen anywhere that this should be an english forum?!?!?!! _________________ tea+free software+law=hook

What I don't understand is WHY SO MANY forums for that.. they are VERY low traffic, and could EASILY be just one forum... same goes for None x86 arch based forums... |

Moving to Gentoo Forums Feedback.
Some people may not speak English well enough, or they may feel better explaining their problems in their first language. I see no problem about it. About the non-existence of a x86 forum, well, I usually supose the posts are about x86 unless the poster explicitly says what is the architecture. _________________ "I'm just very selective about the reality I choose to accept." -- Calvin |

The various language forums exist so someone can converse in their native language if they prefer to, or if they are having a local problem. As need (or lack of) demonstrates, the forums may grow or shrink.
As for the architecture forums, they are similar. Geared toward issues specific to those platforms. Certainly, PPC has enough activity to warrant its own forum. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |
