Ciao a tutti, sto cercando di installare la mia scheda Gigabyte MX 4000 128 MB, prima avevo installata una GeForce MX`e funzionava. Ciò che capita ora è la seguente cosa: gdm parte.. mi appare il logo nvidia e poi si blocca li. Ho su Xorg 6.8.1.901 (insomma l'ultima versione di portage).. sapete aiutarmi? Ah.. kernel 2.6.10 r4

Prova a mettere una versioni piu' nuova dei driver. Inoltre hai qualche opzione strana nel xorg.conf?

Ho l'ultima versione, ho ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" in /etc/make.conf
Impostazione strana.. boh con l'altra scheda andava...

Ci sta che nello xorg.conf hai messo impostazioni specifiche della scheda, tipo quanta ram, clock chip o clock ram...

Il driver è "nv" o "nvidia"? Intendo quello da specificare in xorg.conf.. poi cmq in /etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.6 devo mettere nvidia..

La guida dice nvidia, ma con nvidia ottengo il problema iniziale.. mentre xorgconfig mette nv.. e funziona, tranne l'accelerazione 3d

Potresti controllare dai log che errore ti dà? Per caso usi udev puro? Se si controlla il mouse, la conf del mouse in xorg.conf dovrebbe essere /dev/input/mouse0 o qualcosa di simile.

Si, sicuro al 100 %, prima di fare la prova con nvidia cancellai Xorg* da /var/log
