|
|
Hi,
What do I need to have the spellchecker working under Evolution? The option is there, but no matter what I type it always says that there were no spelling mistakes found... What does it really need? I have both aspell and ispell (both work fine from the command line) including the aspell-en and aspell-es dictionaries, and when I'm typing a message in Evolution I can see the gnome-spell-component-0.5 running as well... But that's it, nothing else happens if I make a typing mistake. Any ideas?
Thanks _________________ O God, Thou art in Heaven...

With aspell you have to emerge a aspell language for it to completly work. For me that is:
Code: | emerge -p app-dicts/aspell-en |
emerge -s aspell to see what other languages are available. |

Hmmmm... I already had aspell-en and aspell-es, and if I use aspell from the command line (sometimes I do), it works fine... My main problem is how to use it from within Evolution, as it seems to do nothing with my text even if there are any mistakes _________________ O God, Thou art in Heaven...

The only other thing that I can think of is to make sure that spell checking is turned on in the options. Tools -> Settings -> Composer Preferences -> Spell Checking -> Check the box "Check spelling while I type".
This is not ment to insult your intelligence, but is the only other thing I can think of. |

Yes thanks, I already checked that... I also enabled automatic checking so that whenever I make a mistake Evolution underlines it with a red line, but it doesn't work either.
Anyway, thanks for your help. I'll keep investigating _________________ O God, Thou art in Heaven...
