growisofs "lock" my gentoo

Im trying to burn a DVD, but when I run 'growisofs -Z /dev/sr0=/where/is/my.iso' (or even with /dev/dvd or /dev/scsi/../../../cd) everything stops.. sometimes only the process turn into a D+.. and other my computer locks.. even the keyboard!!

anybody have any clue?

Ok sorry... but again, anybody knows what can cause this? I even cant kill the growisofs process...
