I'm migrating postfix from a gentoo box to another,
all mail files are in maildir format.
I'd like to move all old messages from the old server to the new one
Consider that the password for our user on the two boxes are different:
the old one is on unix passwd file (and often the user can't remember his password), on the new one is integrated with our active directory.
I've taken a look over some imap migration tools but none is good enough for me.
Do you have any suggestion?
ciao

How about just copying the files as root, and changing the permisions when they are on the destination machine?? _________________ My Public Key

I've tried with my account but there are a lot of collateral problems:
the email client redownload everything again and mark everything as not read.
Any alternative?
I would accept also an imap sync tool that work smoothly |

I am migrating servers also. What a nightmare, I am going from gentoo's virtual mail to postfix / cyrus-imapd. Two totaly differnt servers. I used evolution to copy all mails from server to server. Luck I have only a userbase of 10. I could not find any good way to do it. It sucked! _________________ write quit bang |
