|
|
Hello, my beloved Gentoo community. I give you another riddle tonight:
I have a big zip file,
Code: | $ du -h myfile.zip
3.4G myfile.zip |
Code: | $ file myfile.zip
myfile.zip: Zip archive data, at least v2.0 to extract |
But when I try to extract it, unzip (5.50) acts blind!
Code: | $ unzip myfile.zip
unzip: cannot find myfile.zip, myfile.zip.zip or myfile.zip.ZIP. |
Full path doesn't help, just 'myfile' doesn't help, and changing the name or file permissions doesn't help.
And, the almighty unfoo (5.2.1) didn't help either...
Code: | $ unfoo myfile.zip
unfoo: Unpacking pkzip archive myfile.zip...unzip: cannot find myfile.zip, myfile.zip.zip or myfile.zip.ZIP.
failed |
What can I do, o' wise Gentoo collective?
Your loyal drone,
- shazow |

The filesize limit should be 4GB, but the FAQ states that the practical size might be 2GB: http://www.info-zip.org/pub/infozip/FAQ.html#limits. There is also a 65,000 file limit per archive.
I hate to suggest this, but WinZip 9.0 elimiates the 4GB limit. If you access to a MS Windows sytem, perhaps you could try that. |
