My old high school has 2 proxy servers running. The first for the teachers and the second for the the kids. The kids on is running dans and squid while the teachers is just running squid. When browsing the web through the kids one there is a pause between the clicking go and the website starting to load. While on the teachers it starts to load immediately.

Now Dansguardian seems to be the difference in the equation. Has anyone else had experience with slow downs when dans is enabled?

what are the hardware specs for the two proxy servers?

what OS is installed? (Version)

how many concurrent connections/users for the two?

it's extremly slow!

my hardware spec is 2xP3 1Ghz CPU, 2Gb of RAM, RAID 0+1 SCSI.
and page loading time increases for a moments in a 10 times!
but permanently greater in 3-4 times.
