Well, I'm at a loss. I finally caved and bought a subscription to cedege so I can play CS:Source on slow days at work. I'm runnign ona amd64. I have cedega installed, and I'm trying to install Steam so that I can go ahead and load up the CS:Source stuff, but after running the installer it hangs at "Updating Steam" forever. No error messages besides what appears to be a very normal pthreads error. I get no progress across the updating bar, and when I click cancel it's still responding. Anyone had any luck getting this to work? I'm runnign th latest version of cedega off transgamings website (not cvs, normal download). I really want CS:Source working!!!!
Thx in advance for any help!!! |

Well, I've let it sit there for quite a while now, and it's still sitting at the "updating steam" dialog, with no progress. One thing I didn't notice before (thx to the superfly preemptive 2.6 kernel is that I've got 100% cpu usage. No errors or lockups from the program, it just seems to be either waitin gto connect forever, or in some kind of infinite loop. Anyone? Anyone??? |

just install all the emu-* packges in portage. i'm using cedega+steam without any problems, and i've got a very fresh amd64-gentoo install here. _________________ If you fall off a cliff, you might as well try to fly. After all, you got nothing to lose.
