Hello,

I am having password problems with gnome-system-tools. Every time I launch any of the gnome-system-tools, a dialog pops up saying I have entered the wrong password, even when I am root. Running all the gnome-system-tools via the terminal gives the following feedback:

Code:

[11:53 PM goldenmyst(goldenmyst)]$ users-admin

(users-admin:13998): GConf-CRITICAL **: file gconf-client.c: line 1503 (gconf_client_get_bool): assertion `err == NULL || *err == NULL' failed

(users-admin:13998): GConf-CRITICAL **: file gconf-client.c: line 1467 (gconf_client_get_string): assertion `err == NULL || *err == NULL' failed

I have cross checked my password, shadow and pam configuration files. I have reemerged gconf, pam, gnome-system-tools several times. Unfortunately, the problem still persists. Any help is truly appreciated.

I'm having this same problem with the gnome-system-tools. This started for me after introducing NPTL. I notice that you have nptl in your USE flags also. After rebuilding glibc, I did "emerge --update --newuse world". It rebuilt a bunch of stuff. Apprently one of those rebuilds is what has broken these tools. I notice the following message in dmesg:

perl[22397]: segfault at ffffffff95d89fe0 rip 0000002a95d07b90 rsp 0000007fbffff0e8 error 4

I've tried emerging Perl (both with and without ithreads), gconf and gnome-system-tools. Nothing seems to help.
