Yeah, so. I start up Azureus, and it loads fine. Then a few seconds after the main windows loads up, it crashes. Here's the error:
Code:

tux home # azureus
changeLocale: no message properties for Locale 'English (United States)' (en_US), using 'English (default)'
java: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libswt-gnome-gtk-3106.so: undefined symbol: gnome_vfs_init
tux home #

I apologize if there's already another thread on this...I searched, but couldn't find anything. I've also tried remerging gnome-vfs, but that didn't do much.

I get this error too. I'm running azureus using a remote X session tunneled over ssh, if that has anything to do with it.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Do we need to tweak some library?

Thanks.

I'm running it locally, so I don't think it's the ssh. I've yet to find anything on google or the like.

The only time i have problems with the emerged azureus is that if I update it, it WILL crash everytime it starts up. To solve thsi i just downloaded azureus gtk version from the webstie http://azureus.sourceforge.net then extracted it and put all the files to /usr/lib/azureus and then replaced the /usr/bin/azureus script with the azureus script inside the extraceted files. Then i modified the new script to the right program directory. and now it works just fine

Those who speak German may be able to understand this better than Google, but -

To summarise, as I read it, there may be a problem with the blackdown-jdk and azureus. unmerging blackdown-jdk and merging sun-jdk may fix the problem. I'm trying now, I'll post with results later.

emerge unmerge blackdown-jdk
emerge sun-jdk

fixes my probs. Remember to restart your xsession, or run it from a new shell, in order to get the appropriate shell variables (i.e. so that it can find java).

Instead of substituting the Java package, try to unmerge azureus and emerge azureus-bin. It takes way less time and is prone to less trouble.
