Hi all,
I *really* like Xfce 4.2 as a desktop environment, but I find that the fonts don't look as good as when I'm running in "pure" Gnome or KDE. What I mean by this is that the fonts for Gnome or KDE applications look jagged (not very well antialiased) when run in Xfce, yet they look fine when run in their native DE. I'm a font pedant and it really annoys me!!!
I know this is a bit odd -- Gnome apps use the same font rendering libraries as Xfce after all. I'm running everything updated on ~x86 branch.
Anyone else encountered the same phenomenon and, if so, managed to find a workaround/solution? I'd really like to use Xfce but, like I said, I'm a pedant about the fonts.
Cheers,
Simon |
