well, what it should look like depends upon your environment. for starters, are you on a LAN or are you an isolated single user? _________________ .

That looks ok. Mine is the same and I can connect to the machine with a browser to see the test apache page (you have to emerge apache to get that to work) and also connect via ssh (I installed that too). There is some part of the install process where you give the machine a name and that ends up going on the end of the 127.0.0.1 line, but that might not even be necessary. I think those options are set around the section of the install doc that covers ifconfig and networking.
Once you set up domains that the machine is supposed to handle I think at least one of them go in etc/hosts and the rest go in the virtual hosts file. _________________ -SweepingOar |
