|

Hi there,
I've installed gentoo (again) using the livecd.2004/last. The problem is that when I boot into the computer I have no network at all, but what's strange that I can set the IP address and the devices are working just fine.
I've tried to set the old style config ($iface) and the new config (config_eth0) both but non of them seem to actually work.
I get no error messages, and the result is that I'm unable to ping anything. I've 2 devices available, an e100 and a 8139too, as eth0 and eth1.
I can ping nothing on both of the devices.
Do you have any idea where to look, what else to check? The config seems to be alright, I even tried to rebuild the config file from scratch, but didn't really use. No error message I have here _________________ mb |

What is the output of?
Also, have you tried to use Code: | net-setup eth0
net-setup eth1 | to configure the interfaces? |

Hi there,
I might have created some confusion
livecd: devices are working alright, I can ping.
myhd: devicesw are working alright, I can NOT ping.
the ifconfig says the same thing, the configuration is the same. _________________ mb |

Hi there,
When starting up from livecd and using the livecd configuration I can. When I use my own configuration I get destination host unreachalbe.
I also tried to have genkernel in place - assuming that I might be missing some drivers from my own kernel config - but no change. ;-/ _________________ mb |
