Hello all!
I am currently trying gentoo on a spare partition for my iBook (G3, a couple of years old).
I am not sure this is a ppc problem, but nobody else around me has had the same problem:
while on the console, the mouse cursor tends to "erase" what's behind it when I move it.
On my current system, the mouse cursor only appears when I move it, which is fine. On the gentoo system, it stays invisible all the time, and "overwrite" characters behind it, as if the screen wasn't "refreshed"...
Since I can select and paste things though, I doubt it is a gpm problem.
Also, the console cursor works fine, and the mouse works fine in Xorg.
Two questions:
* How can I make the _mouse cursor_ visible?
* Does anyone have an idea how to fix the display problem?
Could this be a framebuffer problem?
System:
* gentoo 2004.3 for ppc
* framebuffer + gpm
* iBook (G3)
* kernel 2.6.9
I can post more details if necessary...
Thanks for your time.

It's 2.6.9's bug.
You've to patch 2.6.9 (a patch was sent over linux.debian.ports.ppc newsgroup) or simply use another kernel. _________________ ~ "Progress is merely a realisation of utopias" ~ |
