Figured it was appropriate to start a new thread to see what others think of the new "look".

The style is o.k., but the violet coloured text is not eye-friendly imho.

Is it just me, or does the Quick Search not work (yet)? |

Well, it's somewhat more consistent with the rest of the site, which is good, but not quite consistent enough. |

Umm, whoops. I forgot to edit the template and the form didn't have an action. All better. Try it now. _________________ - Kyle Manna

Why not make it copmpletely consistant w/ the rest of the site. The purple isn't the best color, imo. the quick search is nice.
The topic review is still the old style.
So are the buttons. |

It's really nice, especially because I've seen SubSilver in so many other places (heck, even the phpBB I run uses SubSilver), and I'm definitely sick of it. It's nice to have a distinctive, original look for the Gentoo Forums.
One thing: when I'm replying in a thread, the messages in the topic review still look the way they did in SubSilver. _________________ Man must shape his tools lest they shape him. |

Ahh very nice!
Great work to everyone involved, I like it a lot.
Edit: With the Quick Search, it shows the results as posts. Is there any way to get it to show them as threads? |

This isn't really important, but it's almost frightening how the new color scheme is almost identical to that of my avatar... _________________ Man must shape his tools lest they shape him. |

Excellent choice of colours. This is especially great for BBCoded URLs, it's almost impossible to accidentally overlook links now. Great job, nice artwork, too, and thanks for the quick search function... |

It definately was a pleasant surprise.
I just came from another forum which changed its look, and this was the last thing I expected. But I like it. _________________ Postcount ++ |

But it's nice, really |

Great new look.... One problem though : when I do reply to a message, past mesages appear at bottom with the old style (subSliver).
Happy new year to all gentoo-ers ! |

I knew when I left last night I had to do some more CSS tweaking, but I figured the only noticable problem was with the PM pop-up. Guess I was wrong. It is fixed now, but the CSS style sheet still needs to be tweaked for size a little more (remember our 56k buddies ).

lol, think about the 30 or so people that were browsing the forums when I flipped the switch. Some were in the middle of a post. _________________ - Kyle Manna

The new theme looks sharp. Two quibbles:
- Useful links (www.gentoo.org, etc.) have now moved to the bottom of the main page. There is a lot of "unused space" on the right of the gentoo image at the top. I think the links can be moved there. The old theme was better in this regard.
- Text in the "FAQ|Search|Memberlist..." bar does not stand out very well against the dark background.

I like it, but the postreply etc. buttons are still in old style colors, I don't really like that combination. Also this may be a good time to change the charset to charset=iso-8859-15?
I'm also in favor of copying/moving ( I prefer copying) the "links:" section to the top (but not to the right of the logo, the way it is now attracts more attention to the quicksearch button, which is a good thing (tm) IMHO.
Last and probably least, I think that the FAQ, Search etc. line and even more the "Links:" line should be centered.
Not sure if it's better yet. |

I accidently double posted just know and I noticed another bug kinda thingy. The "delete this post" button isn't lined out properly here, I'm using "Mozilla 1.2b - Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021016" in 1024*768 |
