when i enter:
ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge xorg-x11
gentoo cant seem to download the libpng-1.2.8.tar.bz2
it tries a few places before giving up
Temporary failure in name resoloution
!!! Couldn't download libpng-1.2.8.tar.bz. Aborting
is there any way of fixing this so i can emerge xorg?? |

thought i might have fixed the problem by downloading the libpng-1.2.8.tar.bz2 myself and put it in the distfiles folder in portage but that did work until it came to the next package which was:
opengl-update-2.0_pre4-r1
and that came up with the same problem of Temporary failure in name resoloution and Aborting. |

Did you copy /etc/resolv.conf from the liveCD to /mnt/gentoo/etc/ before you chrooted during the install? |

its ok, i found out the problem was i didnt bring dhcpcd during boot up!! but ofcourse when i put in the livecd it did it for me so i could download the libpng package...aaahhh dear me! feel so brainless! |
