Would anybody be interested in forming a UK Gentoo user group? Is there one already in existence?

Based up in Manchester, although I'm unsure as to how active a member I could be due to a fairly busy schedule already. _________________ Want Free games?

Im in Milton Keynes and as a HP-UX SA Im pretty busy aswell It wouldnt be anything major to start with, just a group of people helping each other out every so often and feeding thoughts back to gentoo.org. Perhaps a get together sometime down the road. |

well, there is already a gllug (greater london linux user group) in the uk... could prove confusing.
how about uk.gentoo.org ? no need to buy a new domain name either...
we could set a trend for the other nations ;p _________________ best regards, tav

Hi! I'm based in Central London and would certainly be up for a UK Gentoo group. If there's anything a Gentoo user with an ADSL line can do to help, then let me know
Cheers,

I am based in Edinburgh, UK and would like to stay in touch with a UK gentoo user group if one is started. IMHO, one of the group's major objectives should be to decide how they can collectively help further the progress of gentoo in general. A few of my ideas are to
(1) set up more UK gentoo and rsync mirrors
(2) provide ISO's of gentoo linux for all versions and architectures
(3) promote gentoo in uk publications and linux user groups
(4) promote gentoo as a business OS thereby securing sponsors to fund developers in pound sterling
(5) secure a UK based developer and support group (although this one may be tricky given most people are very busy)
Also, there are also plenty of suitable domain names available so deciding on one and getting it would be relatively easy.
Best wishes. _________________ http://dhruba.name/ |

This thread has made the gentoo weekly news!
I'm in Portsmouth & Guildford (not as bad a commute as Bristol & London, I guess), and would be interested in joining a UK gentoo group. Not sure what I could realistically contribute, but...
