|

I've just upgraded to an nvidia 6600GT AGP card. The pointer now flickers horribly when using the nvidia drivers (it's particularly evident in mozilla/firefox). If I switch back to the xorg drivers, the problem goes away.
Using HWCursor "false" in xorg.conf does remove this problem, but then that means a flickering cursor under other circumstances.
There was never a problem with my previous nvidia card (Ti4200) and I'm using the latest nvidia drivers (6629).
Anybody else seeing a problem like this? |

Try going down a driver version or two, I've heard a lot of people are having problems with the new NVIDIA drivers. I haven't had a problem myself, but I know a bunch of people have. Let me know how that works out.

Unfortunately the 6600GT chipset is only supported on the latest drivers, so I can't try earlier ones. I did try installing Fedora Core 3, and the same problem exists there, so it looks like it's a hardware, driver or x.org problem. |
