Is there any particular reason why ccache would not be used, even if it is enabled?

Code:
adbowers@hotbbq ~ $ ccache -s
cache hit                              0
cache miss                             0
files in cache                         0
cache size                             0 Kbytes
max cache size                     976.6 Mbytes

Code:
Portage 2.0.51-r15 (default-linux/amd64/2004.3, gcc-3.4.3, glibc-2.3.4.20041102-r0, 2.6.10-gentoo-r7 x86_64)

ccache version 2.3 [enabled]

If I run emerge from a user it does not work..
Running from root activates ccache..

run the command ccache -s from root......

Hi.

It might be because you have forgotten to initialize it with something like

#ccache -M 2G

(or whatever size you prefer)
