Should USB work on an Alphaserver 1000?

Hello there,

I've installed a noname PCI USB card in my Alphaserver 1000 but I'm having little success in getting it working.

Here's the details:

Should this work or is USB only supported on later Alphas?

BTW I'm using SRM console if that makes any difference.
