I have a problem when I start Matlab 12 on gentoo 1.4_rc1 just updated to rc2:

Code:

                            < M A T L A B >
                 Copyright 1984-2001 The MathWorks, Inc.
                      Version 6.1.0.450 Release 12.1
                               May 18 2001

 To get started, type one of these: helpwin, helpdesk, or demo.
 For product information, visit www.mathworks.com.

??? Error using ==> set
Invalid handle.

Error in ==> /usr/local/MATLAB12/toolbox/matlab/graph3d/whitebg.m
On line 100  ==>   set(fig(k),'defaulttextcolor',def(1,mode(k)))

Error in ==> /usr/local/MATLAB12/toolbox/matlab/graph3d/colordef.m (wdefault)
On line 103  ==> whitebg(fig,[1 1 1])

Error in ==> /usr/local/MATLAB12/toolbox/matlab/graph3d/colordef.m
On line 50  ==>   wdefault(fig)

Error in ==> /usr/local/MATLAB12/toolbox/local/matlabrc.m
On line 99  ==> colordef(0,'white') % Set up for white defaults

This posting has some considerations on the same problem:

Any ideas?

Thanks, and happy new year to everyone!

I'm also running Matlab 12 on a gentoo 1.4_rc1 box, but I don't have any problems running it, I'm using glibc-2.3.1-r2.

What packages did you upgrade when updating to rc2?

Are you using the student or the full version?

I did
Code:
emerge -u world

I have checked that I'm running glibc-2.3.1-r3. Maybe I should try to downgrade to r2.
