Is there an easier way to get Xcode from apple, other than paying to create an account at apple ?? A torrent perhaps ?? found some but they were all dead. |

I'm pretty sure it does not cost money to get Xcode. I created a free account to get a copy for my computer at school; it was little hassle at all. Are you sure that they charge for it now? _________________ rtylershaw: "My computer doesn't even work and I love this distro. Weird." |

then you are very, very mistaken, the account creation is free, but it is a pain in the butt to create it. (too much stuff to click on). And Xcode is also included on the Panther CD (OS X 10.3) _________________ http://speedmonkey.net - life from a more interesting point of view |

Apple Developer Connection. It's truly free to sign up and get Xcode. _________________ rtylershaw: "My computer doesn't even work and I love this distro. Weird." |

It is free to get Xcode tools and new account. I have a Apple acount and Xcode tools, and I don't pay for this.
Sorry for my English. |

Also, besides the free accout, if you really like to develop software, for the student ADC account, they will mail you CDs when xcode revisions come out, along with ADC updates. |

I believe you can get a Developer Tools CD from an Apple store for free... if you live near one. |

The people involved here have probably already figured out that there's been a confusion between a .Mac account and an Apple Developers Connection account, but for anyone who comes along later here's an explanation. .Mac costs $$ and a dev account is free for the bottom line and there's lots of free stuff to download or you can pay for a slightly better account and get goodies like the Tiger Developers Pre-Release. |
